What sizes do you breed?
Our F1B puppies should end up weighing 25 to 35 pounds.
What does F1 or F1B mean?
The initial generation, F1, comprises a 50% mix of a purebred Burnese Mountain Dog and a purebred Poodle, yielding coats with a pleasing combination of plush to loose waves and minimal to non-existent shedding. On the other hand, the F1B Bernedoodle is crafted with 75% purebred Poodle and 25% Bernedoodle genetic makeup. This is achieved through the breeding of an F1 Bernedoodle with a purebred Poodle, producing a coat that is not only exceptionally curly but also highly allergy-friendly.
Something to think about: One aspect often overlooked by first-time Bernedoodle buyers is the significance of the type of poodle utilized in the breeding process. While mini and micro-sized Bernedoodles abound, many breeders neglect to disclose the size of the poodle involved. Opting for a miniature or toy poodle to cross with a Bernese Mountain Dog typically yields smaller puppies—but without careful attention, these pups can mature with disproportionately short legs and elongated torsos, reminiscent of Dachshunds—a characteristic we sought to avoid in our F1b Bernedoodles. Hence, when selecting Maui, one of our foremost concerns was ensuring his legs were of sufficient length to produce offspring with well-proportioned bodies. Given that puppies are typically sold at around the 8-week mark, many new owners may not realize this potential issue until later stages of growth.
Will my dog shed?
Our F1B Bernedoodles are bred to be very-low-shedding to non-shedding dogs; however, no breeder can 100% guarantee any dog will be completely non-shedding.
What comes with my puppy?
Each of our puppies will come with complete veterinarian records, a small bag of feed, and a blanket to help comfort them as they adjust to their new home.
